Before renting in Canyon Creek Apartments, I have two words for you to consider: BED BUGS. I lived in Canyon Creek for one year and in that time, the neighbors above me gave me bed bugs. Bed bugs are not some imaginary folklore we hear about, but are real infestations of apartments. They live in wood, your bed and just about anything else they can get into. Subsequent to getting bed bugs, I had to throw away my bed, some of my furniture and will have to live with the fear and the troubling idea that these blood sucking creatures are following me and biting me for the rest of my life in my sleep. This was not only expensive, but traumatic. The bed bugs were not isolated to my apartment, nor to my apartment building. The other buildings in the same complex had them and from what I heard from other tenants, more severly.
If I could say one good thing about Canyon Creek, it would be the management. During this time, they cooperated with my roommate and I immensely and paid for the 15 loads of laundry each of us had to do (you have to wash EVERYTHING you own) and placed us in differnet apartments while ours was being fumigated. Because I was so traumatized, they offered us a different apartment for less and wanted to try to help us as much as they could. And, because the apartments are extremely old, there were other issues like water dumping into my room and in the living room. However, these problems were fixed almost immediately and were taken seriously. We also got HUGE discounts on our rent because we agreed to let them show our apartment. I NEVER felt like anyone was intruding when they showed our apartment and they were very respectful.
I could go on about minor issues I had, but I think that the bed bugs speaks volumes of the quality of the apartments themselves.
Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite!
