I'd never seen this apartment when I moved in, I was out of the country and my roommate found it for us while I was away. I don't even know where to start about this place. The freeway noise is unbearable (I've been here nearly a year and still can't sleep a full night because of it), the maintenance is slow when they come at all and reluctant to fix anything at that, there are dips and holes in our floor under the carpet, the walls are paper thin and noise travels through them like there's nothing there.
Furthermore, when we moved in, if you closed the bathroom door you couldn't get out as the door handle only worked from the outside, which resulted in my roommate being trapped when no one was in the apartment for a while.
Also, we were given a screen door that doesn't fit in our door frame that no one will do anything about so now with west nile running around, we can't open up the place enough to get a breeze as there's easily a half inch of open space above the top of the screen door.
There are spiders EVERYWHERE. The trees in the parking lot, the maintenance shed, the dumpsters, EVERYWHERE. Also, there are wasps nests in the masonry of the bricks all over the buildings.
Another interesting note is that the building's foundation is shifting. My bedroom door barely closes, my roommates door had to have parts removed in order to close, the hall closet door has to be slammed to shut it, and for a time, we coudn't lock our front door because the deadbolt no longer lined up. All of these doors worked fine when we moved in. We called maintenance to take care of the front door so they came and re-hung the door... with a TWO INCH gap at the top outside corner. I wish I were exaggerating. It was winter, it was freezing cold, and we had to keep the heat cranked because we were actually getting SNOW through the top of our door and losing LOTS of heat. Nearly a full month after we put in the work order to fix the gap at the top of the door, they tell us they'll have to replace the entire door and side window. Great. We have cats and would have to be home for this (which took about 8 hours) They schedule for 8am on a saturday, we suck it up, wake up on our day off, they come and lo and behold, they bring the wrong door. Now they have to reschedule two weeks later with the right door, and we have to wake up at 8am on yet another saturday. they take 8 hours to get the job done, they leave with all of the caulk still completely wet and say NOTHING to us as they go (literally they just left and when the noise stopped we figured it out) and I walked on the new door frame with my socks on and one of them became permanently covered in caulk.
There are more stories here, but I would think this is reason enough. Don't move here. I've had 5 other apartments in Boulder and this has been by far the worst.
