Superior people, average buildings...

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2007
My family has lived in this complex since 2002 and Kathy, the manager, has been absolutely solid gold to us. She has kept our rent affordable and she has gone out of her way to accommodate anything we might need. She is strict about apartment rules and policies, but not unreasonably so and not past the extent of local legal requirements. Norm and John, the help, are always around and easy to talk to. (Norm can be a but grouchy at times, but that's probably because he works so hard.) This complex is a good way to live affordably in a beautifil neighborhood of houses that start in the 500's, and it's within walking distance of Eisenhower Elementary and Arapahoe Ridge park. Absolutely gorgeous neighboorhood! Police do reguar rounds through the parking lot, which feels safe, although I don't recall seeing them as often recently.
Now for a bit of reality...
These are older buildings and they show their age, despite being repainted about two years ago or so. The interior is your average neutral colors and the materials aren't the best. You can paint, however, if you see fit; I've seen several units painted to the occupants' tastes. The walls and cielings do permit noise from neighboring units into yours, so ask about your neighbors before settling here.
When you park at night, lit spaces are rare. I recommend you park close to the street or otherwise visibly, as I've had my car broken into twice since I've lived here.
The grounds are well-kept, but the sprinkler system could use some fine-tuning. I've run the water obstacle course to the mailbox more times than I care to remember. The system leaves a lot of standing water, and mosquitos have been a problem here in the past (we complained and Kathy has made an effort to address this). Recently the tennis court got a major overhaul and is very nice now. The pool is also recently renovated but the water is way too cold for my tastes (doesn't seem to bother most residents though).
