I lived for three years there, changed three units. In short, I would not recommend Kensington to a friend.
PROS: walking distance to CU; nice exterior
CONS: noisy (especially 1st floor); poor parking (unless you pay $25/month for a designated spot); rude office management; dirty pool (use at your own risk, remember of STD); frequent electricity blackouts (once a month at least); frequent false fire alarm (around midnight); pipes are old and leaking (most tenants are touched by that once a year at least); spiders and myriad of ants (especially 1st floor); wasps around the building; mold (it will be painted over, you will notice it later if you move in).

You're an idiot. You cannot catch an STD from a pool. You kinda need to be rubbing against something other than a pool. Secondly, I lived at Kensington for a year and was very happy with them. Why? Probably because I paid attention to what I was signing and agreed to, paid rent on time, did what the rules asked etc. You appear to have lived in a place for three years and a place that you don't seem to like. Odd. The building is on the older side but still perfectly fine for shelter. I would live there again w/o question. This is the first place I ever received ALL of my Security deposit back and then some (interest). The pool is fine. The steam room is AWESOME! The staff, although Gail does seem slightly abrasive at times, she really is a sweet perosn as you will get to know over the year (provided you're not a jackass- ie- pay rent, don't cause problems). Maintenance was ok, timely...nothing spectacular but what do you want? Singing, dinner and a kiss? The fire alarms went off a couple of times, but hello? They work very well! Thanks for that and maybe it was some idiot making it happen? I find it very hard to believe mgmt was pulling the alarm at midnight. I only recall one blackout and it was the entire block. Insects? Clean the apartment or close the screen! Never saw mold or the leaks they mention. The wifi was slightly irritating because jackass' would be using it for acting as servers which crams the bandwidth! Basically, the jackass' that live around you make the property bad, not the mgmt or the building. To bad the laws protect jackass'.
