Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I lived in Meadow Creek Apartments for 11 months from July 2005 through June 2006. I was a full-time student at CU during this period.
I had to meet very specific criteria in order to find a place that my roommates and myself could afford ($500 or less a piece for all three of us), where we would each have our own room, where a we could live with a dog, and also have bus access to campus.
Finding a place close to campus with such specifics was of course out of the question. Meadow Creek was one of the only places that fit the bill.
We ended up choosing Meadow Creek over the other places because of the amenities it offered (which were always kept clean), the grounds (Extremely close to King Soopers!)the layouts and size of the apartments (the kitchen was huge), and that it had bus access to campus (with one bus transfer onto the Hop from the 205 going to campus).
Overall, my roommates and I had a pleasant experience with the apartment community. The staff, though sometimes curt, were helpful and knew what they were talking about. Service orders were taken care of in a timely fashion and the grounds were kept clean.
Our only complaints about the apartments where one: they were quite far from campus. If you have a car, it's not quite so bad, but it is still a bit of a drive (about 15 minutes). Two: The walls were also very thin. So, if you have noisy roommates or neighbors, you will be able to hear them. For example, my neighbors liked to argue quite loudly and we could hear them verbatim (no joke) through the kitchen wall. It was a source of entertainment, but it could be annoying at times. If you have respectful roommates and neighbors, this will not be a problem. Our neighbors for the most part where quiet. Least to say, I never got woken up in the middle of the night due to neighbor noise. This may not be the case for everyone though.
Just try to bear in mind that in any apartment community, there will be problems and not everything will be perfect. Having said so, Meadow Creek was probably one of best experiences I've had living at an apartment community.
