From the apartments I have seen in Boulder, Varsity is OK as far as pricing. You aren't gonna find much lower than about $600/month. We had a few maitnence problems, but they were handled fairly quickly. There were 2 things that really bothered me about the apartments though, the lack of parking even with a lot for residents only and the huge cut from our security deposit after leaving. The first, parking, is tough anywhere near the hill. If you plan on coming back at about 11 on a weekend, plan on looking for a spot for 10-20 minutes to get anything within .5 miles. And then there is the other matter, the charges for not properly cleaning the apartment. We got charged $250 to paint the apartment after we left. I cleaned any of the spots that were off color, but when we moved in it didn't look that clean to begin with. I would suggest taking pictures of what the apartment looks like when you move in to maybe get you some leverage so that they can't keep all of your deposit.

As for the people talking about the noise, my neighbors threw parties Thursday-Saturday every weekend it seemed and I am sure it can be a hassle if you can't sleep with noise, but you have to remember this is STUDENT LIVING, there will be parties on the weekend anywhere you live. Just get to know your neighbors, most of them are respectful if you ask them to turn the music down at 2 AM on a Wed. night.
