Not the best place I've ever lived in, but certainly not the worst.

My experience here has been mostly positive. Management is very friendly and helpful, parking is adequate and the rent is cheap. The courtyards and laundry rooms are well maintained for the most part.
The apartments themselves are decent, but they really need major updating. Someone in another review mentioned that the water temperature in the shower changes. This is still true, although it's gotten better lately.
We did have our fair share of noise issues. People in our building used to let their kids run wild in the courtyard without supervision. Our next door neighbor's teenager seemed to think that it was alright to play his music loud enough to rattle our bathroom mirror and have all of his friends over while his mother was gone. He's had more than a few visits from the cops. Management finally stepped in and issued notices threatening eviction if they got any more complaints. Since then, I've only had to remind the kid next door to turn down his music once.
Maintenance is usually quick to respond, but they don't always solve the problem right away. It took them two days to figure out why our tub was leaking into the bathroom below us. The first time they looked at it, all they did was recaulk. That didn't fix the problem, so the second time they ended up tearing out part of the wall and replacing a pipe. That fixed it, but they left a mess in the bathroom that I ended up cleaning.
Outdoor lighting is adequate and I've never felt unsafe walking around at night. I haven't had any problems with anyone breaking into my car, although my boyfriend said that someone got into his car and took all the change out of his center console. That only amounted to about a dollar, and he admits it was his fault because he left it unlocked.
Overall, it's a decent place to live on the cheap. I've lived in worse places in Lakewood and Capitol Hill.
