Stay away. These apartments are very overpriced and terrible.

These apartments are horrible. My experiences with Camden have all been negative. It started when I asked, before moving in, if I could cover the top of my balcony. I was told twice that it would be ok, but after I moved in they changed their story. Then came the pigeons. It took 15 months of demanding they fix the problem for them to put up pigeon spikes. I was never able to use my balcony due to large piles of pigeon droppings everywhere. I also had it all over the exterior of my windows. Even after they finally put up spikes, they didn't clean anything. The apartments have all settled poorly, and no doors seal properly. The settling is so bad that my apartment doors all had visible light even after adjustments were made. The walls and ceilings all have painted over cracks as well. In the Summer, my 3rd floor one bedroom was quite hot but ok for me with a fan. Winter was another story. It was impossible to heat the apartment above 64 degrees with the poor windows and drafty gas fireplace. My utility bills were over 200 a month. The paint on the walls is very thin. It comes off if you brush up against it. The complex is directly north of Jefferson County Airport, and in the direct flight path of it's north/south runways. That means you're constantly being bombarded with propeller and jet engine noise. The complex has an echo to it if your apartment faces into the complex so the airplane noise can easiely drown out a TV or loud stereo. The maintance people are horrible. They damanged my apartment while making repairs and often times took too long to make repair, if they made them at all. When it snows, they never have the exterior steps cleaned off, and if they do all they use is salt. So if you don't slip in the ice this creates, you track the salt/gravel into your apartment. The parking lot is tight for anything but compact cars. My mid-sized pickup had to make 3 point turns to get into and out of my garage. Included in the price of your rent is a cable TV subscription. You don't have the option of telling them you don't want it, or even want to use a satellite, you pay for it whether you use it or not. Overall I decided to break my lease with Camden. The price for rent in my one bedroom went from 900 to 940 in one year and will continue to rise thanks to the housing market. My advice, get a cheap house. I did, and I couldn't be happier.
