Apartment living, isn't the best, but given the circumstances, I like the Camden apartments.
Yes, there is only one Dumpster. It's odd but not too awful. Just take the trash out on your way to the grocery store.
Yes, there are pigeons. I've seen a flock of maybe 200. They come and go. Be glad they aren't Black Birds, the cooing is somewhat relaxing in the morning.
Repairs can be iffy, but I have noticed that, when you make sure that the office staff actually take down the details, that the problem is resolved within 2 visits. Some of the office staff just smile and nod, and then the repair guys have no idea what they really should be fixing. One thing that also helps, is to leave notes for the repair guy.
The staff is really nice, but they are primarily there to sell apartments, don't believe everything they say, if you have a special consideration that they agree to, get it in writing.
Yes, the windows are thin, there are ways to overcome this. It's an apartment complex, did you really expect otherwise'
My biggest complaint is the complete lack of sidewalks in the complex.
My favorite part is every apartment comes with a garage.
The noise level varies, I was driven nuts by the thumping from people walking around upstairs after a while I got used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore. Outside, car/airplane engines can wake you up, but most of the noise is fleeting and can be blocked out with flimsy ear-plugs. The worst thing was when the only neighbor that we share a wall with had a conversation in their bedroom. I could have heard their entire conversation. I heard whole sentences clearly. But when I backed away from the wall and put ear plugs in I could still sleep soundly.
Oh, another great thing, they actually plow the snow, I know so many apartment complexes that DON'T do that at all. It is really nice.
The point is, there is nothing so terrible about this place that I wouldn't recommend it. Nothing is stellar, everything is manageable, the staff is nice. If you don't like it, save your money and buy a house.
