Happy With Remington West

I've lived at Remington West (in the larger 1-bedroom model) since May 2007 and have been happy as a clam since my move. Having recently graduated college and landed my first professional job, I wanted to find a home that was a cut above the places in which I lived during my college years. I wanted a place that was affordable but not cheap, and I found it.
Parking is about what can be expected; enough spaces but if you're getting home late on the weekends (and I often am) there is a good chance you won't find a space right outside your building. However, you can sign-up for a garage or covered parking space (as I just did, $25/month) and have a space saved for you. The grounds are clean, lush and well kept. They are, however, newly planted and as such there aren't numerous large trees. There's a nice size swimming pool and hot tub as well as an exercise facility and tanning room. If you are looking for a quiet afternoon laying by the pool you are not guaranteed to find it. Often times in the summer I went down to catch some sun but was forced to leave early as children are often playing in the pool - that means screaming, splashing and eventually crying when mom/dad say it's time to go home. However, this is hardly exclusive to this community.
The apartments themselves are clean, modern, in a prime location and offer good views of the Rocky Mountains. My only complaints about the apartments themselves is cabinetry, counter tops and carpeting. The doors on the cabinets are made of a cheap faux wood that look alright but are not of the highest quality. The counter tops in kitchen and bathroom are made from an inexpensive Formica that and have a few spots that are buckled and rippled. The carpet is in good condition but, like the cabinets and counter-tops, hardly luxurious. That might be nit-picking and it's certainly not something that would make me forgo living here. They offer extras (of course for an addition fee) where one can chose to paint an accent wall or add new light fixtures to make the place more their own. On thing I have really liked is the sound level of the community; once inside my apartment I cannot hear music or noise from surrounding units. Occasionally one hears a dog barking or children playing but that's hardly exclusive to this community and for the most part it is a quiet, peaceful area in which to live.
The office and maintenance staff at Remington West do stand out. The young women who handle operations in the leasing office are friendly, helpful and professional. They usually have 2 or 3 people working and sometimes as many as 4. This assures that whether you are just dropping by to pay rent or if you are spending an afternoon there viewing units and discussing a lease, there will be a helpful and friendly young woman available to assist you. When I came by to sign my lease in late April, the young lady who helped me took plenty of time to discuss all the terms and stipulations in the lease agreement and fully answered my plethora of annoying questions. Even though it was pouring rain that afternoon she even took me over to inspect the apartment and confirm everything was satisfactory. The staff is just as helpful, if not moreso, after you move in. They are available to answer questions or help solve problems for residents. They will sign for and receive packages and store them in a secure closet until you arrive to pick them up. They host community functions and, I don't know if they are just doing what is asked, but all of them make an effort to be friendly with the residents. The maintenance staff will assist you whenever you need help and are ready at almost a moments notice. I was having a problem with my washing machine and the gentlemen came right over and the problem was solved in less than 5 minutes.
Overall Remington West is a good, but maybe not perfect, place to live. The apartments are good for the price, located in a safe and accessible area, the grounds are clean and well-kept and the staff is friendly and as likeable as sunshine.

Sounds like this post was written by the beautiful, talented, young, likeable as sunshine staff themselves, or their moms.

I third that. Been here for 1.5 years. I like it here, but there are plenty of reasons why I want to move on at the end of this lease. This review was too much golden sunshine to be from a real tenant.

Ok I was a little over-zealous in my original review so I made some modifications. I can assure you I am NOT a staff member or one of their mothers. Maybe I have different standards than others but I have been happy living here. I also stand by my assertion that the staff is as likeable as sunshine, but then again maybe others like sunshine more than I do. I apologize if anyone thought my review was disingenuous.

Gee I came by these apts whem I was looking to move back in 2006 and I must not have looked rich enough or else it was break time. There must have been at least 3 of them in the other room, I waited and waited and no one seemed interested to come over to even acknowledge I was there. I decided to walk out good decision I know and found a wonderful deal and I do mean wonderful. I am renting from a private owner and have all the amenities of apts but without the hassles. I even got gift cards for Christmas from them when I had only been renting from them for 2 months. Stick that Remingtons!!! And a BIG THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!! I found way better!!!!!!!!!!

In the 2 years I have lived at Remington West, I have found that the comments made about the grounds, pool, fitness center and apartment from above are fairly accurate. I wouldn't refer to the staff as "sunshine", but they do treat me well whenever I go into the office. I don't expect them to do cheers when I walk in, so I guess their polite attitude is not a dissappointment.
