I've lived at Remington West for over 9 months now. I have to admit, with all of the bad reviews I was nervous about moving in: it seemed like everyone had a grudge against the place. But the staff who showed us the apartment were extremely helpful and friendly, and I was impressed with the clean apartment and new appliances just installed. I have continued to be extremely satisfied with Remington West: and here's why:

- The staff have always been extremely helpful and friendly to us. They remember you by name, and generally bend over backwards to meet your needs.
- The maintenance crew always responds to requests in a timely manner, and leave a note to say they've come in while you are gone to fix something. (And yes, they have ALWAYS fixed whatever we asked). Furthermore. we have gotten several follow-up phone calls from the office staff to make sure we were satisfied with the maintenance performed.
- The apartment complex itself is kept clean and tidy. I have never had trouble finding a parking spot, and the roads have always been plowed early, even when I get up to go work out at 5:30am.
- Aside from the train (which I obviously knew about when I moved in) the noise levels here are very quiet. I do live on a top floor, but I have never experienced the noise level others have complained about on this site.
- I really enjoy the complimentary wrapping service, tanning, internet and DVDs that the office provides to us: I feel pretty lucky!


Now, to be fair I will mention some things that I have found somewhat frustrating living here, but none of them would keep me from signing a lease. They are merely minor inconveniences.

- The sidewalks are often not shoveled by the time I go to work at 8:30am (but the parking lot is)
- The office is often understaffed, so it may take awhile to get a phone call through if you have an issue or a maintenance request. I have also experienced them opening up 30 minutes late on a Sunday, which is annoying.
- The windows in the apartment are indeed VERY poorly insulated. We have seen ice INSIDE the windows when it's very cold, which obviously doesn't help with our heating bill. But, stick up some blankets and curtains and you are fine. Unless you live in a nice home with new windows, this is a problem for a lot of people anyway.
- In the summertime when the AC is on, there is a drainage pipe in the ceiling above the shower that will drip into the tub and stain it. But I don't often take a bath in the summer, so it's not a big issue to me.

Anyway, I just wanted to give a true account of a real residents experience here.
