We are current tenants at Remington West. We are coming up on our 2 yr mark and are deciding, once again, whether to renew our lease or not.

When we first looked at the apartments, we asked if all of the apartments came with the new carpet like the model. The lady told us yes. When we came to look at OUR apt, the day before moving in there was no new carpet and the leasing girl didn't seem to care. She just said, no, this was our carpet. Also, we had to pay for upgrades in our apt, which I think was crap, and those weren't even installed yet. Lots of negatives that first day. We were in tears for choosing this place. Also, they had us sign the lease before we looked at the actual apt, and weren't friendly even though I called ahead of time to make sure it was ok. Anyway, that was almost 2 years ago, and we try to not dwell.

Parking ... Great, if your parking during the day, and not a guest. The guest parking is at the other end of apt complex from us. My husband gets home late sometimes, and has to park near the guest parking. Not fun to walk to the next morning in the freezing cold.

Yes, the windows are about as thin as paper. We have had ice on the INSIDE of ours, too. You can see the blinds moving from the cold air coming through.

Also, I think there is air in the pipes by our bathroom. When someone around us uses some water it sounds like someone is beating on the wall in the bathroom. I know it's the pipes b/c there is a little access hole above our toilet that gets knocked loose everytime this happens. Once again, maintenance has been out. Screw was tightened on our access hole cover, but nothing with the actual pipes and leasing lady didn't seem bothered.

Ok, so other than those things, the place is not bad. All of our neighbors seem really nice (except that one time when someone drew swastikas on the sidewalk with chalk and it took several days to get cleaned off).

I guess we are just used to a little more quality. I'm just sharing with the next person looking for a place. This is definitely a "you get what you pay for" type place.
