Definitely NOT a place to call home

I lived here for a grueling and painful year, then fled as quickly as I could once my lease was up. The place looks fine and wonderful from the outside, but inside you'll notice crappy construction (paper thin walls, 1" gaps between carpet and the wall, etc)as well as some of the "clientelle" they rent to being rowdy, disrespectful and just plain rude. I was awoken NUMEROUS times during the night because residents were having parties, setting off fireworks, or in some cases, talking normally in the next apartment. Let me tell you, there's nothing like finally meeting your next door neighbor and having them say, "oh, you must be Greg, and you must be Ruth" ... needless to say, don't make any noise in your bedroom... your neighbors WILL hear you.
On top of that, the management was flat out vicious and rude. They would constantly leave notices on doors about pets, etc that in no way, shape, or form sounded like the friendly and inviting staff that they proclaim themselves to be.
Upon first moving in, my hot water heater worked great for the first day, then all I got was cold water from it. I called the emergency maintenance number and told them what was going on to which they replied that as it was a weekend, they didn't have anybody on site and a broken hot water heater was not considered to be an emergency. I guess showering, dishes, stuff like that aren't really important things. THAT was a fun weekend (rolls eyes). When I brought this up with Monique, the leasing manager, all that she told me was to read my lease and that it's in there that the hot water heater is not covered. READ THE FINE PRINT!
Overall I would say that this place is NOT worth the amount of money that they charge. You'd think with the arm and leg that they charge in leasing, they could afford to hire decent staff and at least maintain their building well.
