counting down the months until our lease expires

There are good and bad points in living here. It is spacious, modern and has fairly nice apartments. The office staff are fine; some better than others, but I have had no real issue in this regard. Maintenance is pretty good. In summer the pool is great. My husband enjoys the gym facility which isn't bad either.
However, the hot water runs out in the shower after about 15 mins. On the very odd occasion, I have jumped in and had only 5 mins of hot water. Though we were told by a leasing associate that the walls were solid concrete and very sound proof, I can hear people urinating in their bathrooms at night.
I am constantly annoyed by the parking situation where only one key is given per apartment to get into the parking garage. Too bad if there is more than 1 driver in your household.
The lawns around the complex are often littered with dog crap. Granted, there are doggy bags available, but I guess the staff can't police this situation and there are a lot of pets living here......
Heating costs are really high now that we are in winter. Higher than expected. The main bedroom (which is quite large) gets so cold in the middle of the night, whilst the living room can be almost too warm. I really hate the heating system here, and it will cost you.
The biggest minus to this place is definately the hidden costs! We were told the monthly utilities bill should be around $40-$50 at the most. Now we are up to $110 per month for trash, gas, sewer and water.
The location is very average overall. However it is too far from Boulder for me. A locale plus here is it is in walking distance to Lakeshore athletic club--great but quite expensive.
We call this place "the institute" in jest...but it sort of is.......boring and with hidden costs. Just not worth it overall.
