Yo!

This place wasn't too bad.

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004

During my stay here from 2003-2004, my wife and had a pretty enjoyable time at Village Creek. There were very few problems over the course of our stay.

Pros:

Being originally from New England, we chose this apartment complex because it had trees, and it would let us keep our cats. However, the big draw was the trees.

Since Vance Street is right off 92nd, there is a mostly direct shot to I-36 which is the road to take to get to Denver or Boulder. You can walk to the mall or the downtown city plaza markets if you feel inclined. I used to work at Interlocken in Broomfield, so this was a quick ride too.

We had a 2BR/2BA model, so we could open windows on both sides of the apartment and get a cool breeze through the place, which was nice. The apartment was in excellent shape when we moved in, and maintenance was always quick to respond w/ anything we had wrong.

Laundry is located in a separate area in the back of the office, and there are always washers and dryers free. They take a card system which frees you from lugging around a bag of quarters.

The pool was very nice...and the hot tub was toasty. The young crowd was mostly friendly and there weren't a ton of kids running around.

The walls were thick enough 'cos I never heard so much of a peep from either side of the walls from my neighbors.

Cons:

Parking layout left something to be desired, but ample parking was never too far away. I just had to come home before it got too late.

The train coming through at night is loud...and I mean wake-you-up-eyes-wide-as-saucers loud. You get used to it after a week or two, but it's loud.

Lots of college students. Lots. It didn't bother me most of the time, but they sometimes attract a rowdy crowd. If you don't like the noise, this isn't for you.

Overall, I'd recommend it...

I'm still having trouble getting my initial deposit back from Aimco though...so don't drop your guard on this when you move out.
