Limited utility choices--save yourself a BUNDLE! Don't move here!

Having lived here for a year and a half, I've moved out. One big reason I moved was due to the continual problems I had with QWEST, who has the phone, cable, hs internet, and bundled services for the entire complex. I had no options for these. It was dictated. Qwest doesn't give a rat's ass about anyone. When you have a question or problem with the bill, you sit for literally HOURS on HOLD, waiting to be helped. While holding, you're subjected to their continuous drivel about their wonderful service, etc., and other bulls---. They offer you special rates, then conveniently forget to credit your bill, expecting you to not notice. So--then you call the company, and they make you sit there by the hour to get it corrected. I'm telling you, I called them EVERY MONTH that I lived there. When I moved in here, I was told my BUNDLED services would save me 20%, that my cost per month would be $125 ballpark. What I experienced, however was much more than that. Every month, my bills were at least $145-$170. It was RIDICULOUS.
In addition to this, there was a steep increase on cost of water/sewer/trash removal bill. When I moved in, the bills were about $25/mo. In just a year and a half, they increased to over $48/month! And, the cost of gas to heat also increased dramatically, from about $30/month to $70/mopnth when I moved out.
I'm glad I moved out...it was a HUGE savings to go to The Bluffs, where I rented a larger unit for nearly $200/month LESS than Echo Ridge. And, they aren't scalping us for the water/sewer/trash, either...$22/month or so.
My advice...look elsewhere!--Save yourself a BUNDLE...for me, I estimate the savings at about $2600/year...maybe even more.

It's amazing how Coloradans (outside downtown Denver) think their rent is high at $750. I look forward to paying $800 for a one bedroom. My rent at 728 sq. ft. is $1,375 in Northern Virginia (Wash DC area). Yes, our salaries are higher, but it's all relative. An admin asst may make $50K/year here, but you've got to make that amount of money to pay the rent. I have family in Colorado and look forward to moving there this summer. As far as noise, you will ALWAYS have noise in an apartment - take control of the situation. Diplomatically work with your neighbors and management - I do all the time and get results. I once took pictures of the trash and a cat dish my neighbor left outside her door for days on end. I emailed the picture to the property manager and left a copy of the picture on the neighbor's door. As a result, her trash days ended. Apartments have pros and cons - I'll take an apartment anyday over the responsibility of owning. Condo fees? Association fees? Taxes? Not for me. Been there done that. Like I said folks, take control of the situation.

Nothing was said in the original comment about the rent being high! In fact, my rent has been high since I'm renting an 800 sq ft unit on a month-to-month basis at $895/month. Still, I am not complaining about that! Nor did I complain about the noise...in fact, I emphasized the fact that I only had a problem with noise 2 times in 1 1/2 years, which I consider pretty remarkable! The person who wrote the response clearly did not catch the POINT of the comment....which was that my main complaint is with the poor snow removal and subsequent safety issue pertaining to that. And, the implication that I did not diplomatically deal with management...I DID call twice and ASK politely that the snow be removed from the handicapped parking areas. READ the comment for the POINT....before you offer your 2 cents' worth!
