Lemme start with the maintenance. If you're a smoker and throw a cigarette butt on the ground, the maintenance will yell at you. Seriously, they will literally YELL at you. They will scream that it is not their job to pick up your cigarette butts and that the next time you throw a cigarette butt on the ground, they'll fine you. Long story short, if you want to maintain your dignity, you'll be swallowing your cigarette butts or shoving them in your pockets before throwing them on the ground.

Next is the cable. The only choice you'll have is DirectTV, which is the monopoly at Echo Ridge. I've lived in different parts of the country and had different cable providers, and DirectTV offers the lousiest channel lineup by far. Also, if you happen to have an HDTV television set, you will not get any HD channels, although they are listed in the DirectTV lineup. If you call DirectTV, a representative will tell you that they are working on enabling the HD channels, but guess what: you'll move out long before they enable any of the HD channels. Moreover, when DirectTV guys hook up the receiver, they will reprogram your TV, so your original TV remote will not work anymore. Here is the funny part: when you move out, nobody's gonna program your TV remote back, and you will not get any help from DirectTV tech support either, so you will be left with a nonfunctional original TV remote.

Now the Internet. The only choice you will have is Qwest. If you use Web mail, you are probably going to be OK. However, if you want to use a client e-mail application (Outlook, Thunderbird, whatever), you'll never figure out how to make it work. If you have a ton of free time on your hands and are anxious to spend hours talking with Qwest and Microsoft (yeah, Qwest is bundled with Microsoft's Window Live) representatives and tech support, you are gonna love it because it is going to take you a long time before you will be able to send and receive e-mails using a client.

One last thing: when you are moving out, do not bother to do a thorough cleaning of your apartment; you will NEVER get your full deposit back. You may lick your place clean, and they will still deduct at least some of your original deposit. In the very least, they'll charge you for dirty carpets. Here is their little trick: the day after you move out, the maintenance will move in with their repair work, and your marvelously looking, shampooed carpet will be trashed in a matter of seconds.

your an idiot...DirecTV cannot unprogram your original remote control. They program theres so you do not have to use 2...They in no way unprogram your original remote...I know because I worked for them for 5 years, and as much as you might want to believe they did, it is impossible to unprogram a remote made for a TV...Try changing the batteries!!! Also, write a review that matters for this complex, not about your issues with DirecTV....Also, you should pick up your cigarette butts, it shouldn't be someone elses job to clean up after you. It's disgusting and a little ridiculous that you think it's ok to just drop your butts anywhere you want....Don't you want to live in a nice clean area....Don't ruin it for everyone else because you are a scumbag slob!
