I read all of the reviews ahead of mine. I feel like I can be honest about the situation. I have lived here for a few years now. At first I felt like the "new" staff were just rude and useless. Over time I think they have weeded out some people and have a decent staff now. They have tried to help me several times because I am sick and have a baby. They also try to take care of the sidewalks where people with babies or elderly family live first thing after it snows. They have brought out packages to my car without me asking - they knew that's what I was there for and they didn't want me to have to get the baby out and walk inside in the cold just for the package. The maintenance guy may be a little inexperienced and he IS young and kind of "rough" looking. I know not to judge a person by their looks and he has never scared me - very friendly and always smiling. He also tries to help and I think if he didn't know what to do in a situation he would find out - ask around, etc. The buildings ARE very loud - louder than the last 2 places I lived. I think the walls are thin. I do get annoyed with the noise because it wakes up my baby probably 4 nights out of the week. But he is a light sleeper and until we can find a house I don't know if I can find anyplace that will be totally quiet. We too have some partiers near us and I've had to call the police several times after midnight to get them quieted down. One good thing: Centennial cops have a great response time! They are always here in half an hour or less to quiet them down. The grounds could use some more upkeep. It is not uncommon to see cigarrettes everywhere under a balcony with smokers. It is not uncommon to have broken glass in the parking lot. It is not uncommon to step in dog crap. But the office does try to keep that down. They have a fine in place for people who don't take their dogs to the specified area (if they get caught). I know the maintenance guys have their hands full trying to keep up with a place this big and they don't have time to do as much cleaning as would be nice (sweeping hallways, picking up trash, etc.) And the residence have to take some responsibility - how can you expect them to pick up 50 cigarrettes after a party night when kids just throw them on the ground all over' I have seen some problems that need to be fixed in the repair department. And I told the old staff several times about it and nothing was done. Then I was kind of shy to tell the new people - but every time I did it was fixed very quickly, so maybe you just have to tell them. All in all I am going to try to move into a house when my lease is up - I've had enough of apartment life. It's ok when you are young and single, but when you have a family - it's nice to have your own space.
