Alvarado is in a dangerous neighborhood. I lived there for one year and it was not good. There was a shooting that left a hole in my neighbors wall, I had a guy expose himself to me in the parking lot on several occasions, and one night someone tried to open my front door, but the door was locked and my husband and I pushed against it in case he tried to force it open. Thankfully no one was hurt on any of these occasions. I also had a stranger come to my door asking me for a ride because the woman who ran the office told them I owned a car and that I would probably give them a ride. (no, I didn't!) It was very unclean - saw a dead rat floating in the pool. And I could hear every move my neighbors made through the super-thin walls. The management changed several times during my stay and got worse each time. They tried to get me to sign a different lease because they wanted me to get rid of my cat (which was allowed in my original lease) - They were rude and unfriendly. Definitely not a place for decent people to live.
