I ve lived in a lot of places in my 20 years of being an adult... from apts to houses and let me tell you this has become one of the worst! The construction nonsense has been so poorly planned and supervised. We have such a huge shortage of parking spots. Yet they take up a huge chunk of it with storage bins. They decided to clean out fireplaces a week before the holidays. They went from taking care of maintenance issues w/in the same day (at most a day) to at times needing up to a week-2 weeks to respond to maintenance issues and alot of times the stuff doesn t get fixed right the first time (we're about to put in our 3 request to have our guest bathroom repaired) and omg... the smell that comes out of that bathroom! No matter how often I clean it... spray it... light candles/incense... lay out potpourri... it still smells like a rotting sewer in there but when I point it out, they never smell a thing (yeah right). We had one guy, during the storms out there shoveling. My husband had to shovel our steps and we laid down salt, because they couldn t be bothered apparently.

The construction guys have absolutely no consideration about people s personal property. We were given so little notice about our balconies being done and then due to the weather they canceled it for that day and then gave us no new notice about the reschedule. We found out by people being on our balcony at 7:30 in the morning and the stuff we had out there, they just threw in the bushes and then LEFT! Not only did they not put everything back but all my potting stuff was thrown into the bushes as well and never found. And as nasty as the managers are (polite but don t give a rats a@! about you or your issues) my husband encouraged me to find out about the rent this month, since the 1st-3rd wrapped around a holiday w/e and the banks were closed. We were promptly informed that we had no grace because of that, if the rent wasn t in the mail slot by Tuesday at the open of business, we'd be charged a $50 late fee (Aspen Ridge always gave you that extra day. If they were closed so were the banks and they understood that!). And if we were expected to pay the rent a day early, shouldn t we have been given notice of such a major policy change'

And oh the coupe de gras... last week... in the apt. above us... at 6:00 IN THE MORNING... THEY LET THE CARPET GUYS LAY DOWN CARPET!!!!!!!!!!!! at 6am!!!!!!! And they weren t just pounding hammering or working, they were dropping rolls of carpet down. My entire apt. was covered in dust. I had to take the glass and bulbs down of the lighting fixture because every time they dropped the carpet down, the fixtures would bounce. I suffer from terrible allergies; I had JUST gotten to sleep not 20 mins earlier. So when I finally got a hold of someone in the office at 10:30, their response to my complaint was... "We have a business to run and "we have no control over when our vendors come" WHAT'!'!'!'!'!'!' SERIOUSLY''''''

And if I just would have known how bad it was going to get, we would have worked on moving out sooner. We had planned on staying here until we were ready to buy a house in another 3 years. But now, we either are stuck here for another year or we can not sign a new lease and pay $1100 if we want to stay on a month to month. For this place, with appliances that are old and don t work right and a management office that could care less if your kids were licking asbestos... they just want the rent and nothing more or less...

And as a side note... it s been my experience that if so many people are complaining but you get some positive feedback that it s either friends of the owner/managers or the managers themselves...

Maybe we should start letting the owners know how many tenants are unhappy here... maybe then they'd do something about it... or maybe not... maybe we just need to move!
