Overall, a pleasant experience. Very military friendly.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008

I lived in Aspen Ridge/Parc at Briargate from August 2006 to September 2008. Overall, I thought it was fairly well run and a pleasant place to live. The office staff, as a whole, was very helpful and never really gave me a hard time with any requests. In the two years I was there I don't really recall any specific maintenance requests I put in so I can't really comment and how quickly they respond...which I suppose is a good thing in and of itself. There was one incident where an underground sewage pipe or something broke and flooded all the first-floor units in my building (mine included) and I was amazed at how management handled the situation. The backed-up water basically soaked all the carpet and flooring in my apartment...thankfully it didn't ruin any of my stuff. They had a company come in and dry up all the water, replace the carpet, and even put in the faux hardwood flooring in the bathroom and kitchen. Heck, my apartment looked better after the flooding than it did before.
The only reason I moved out was because I got deployed to Afghanistan and I decided to put all my stuff in storage so I could pocket my BAH. I turned in my keys about a month before my lease was up and wasn't even there when they went through my place. I'm assuming everything was kosher because I got my deposit refunded shortly thereafter. The staff is very helpful to those of us in the military.
I heard my neighbors complain about the parking every now and then. There are assigned spots and yes, every now and then someone doesn't see the numbers and parks in your spot. At worst, you have to park 10 or 20 meters further down which really isn't all that bad. Besides, if you really want to, you can have someone towed out of your spot (I think I did it once) if someone decides to make a habit of parking there. As far as the noise, the walls are pretty well insulated and I never really heard much from my neighbors. The lady above me liked to get on her treadmill at 6 AM every morning which I could always hear through my ceiling, but it was only a problem when I fell asleep on the couch in the living room--couldn't hear her in my bedroom. That was partially my own fault though for getting a first-floor unit. Oh and it was great how they liked to keep the grounds looking so nice and neat, but it really did seem like they had the grass mowed every other day. Pretty annoying when I worked at night and my bedroom was on the first floor AND on the corner of the building. If you'r not trying to sleep during the day though, I doubt it would be a problem.
Overall, I would definitely tell my friends to live here. If I were coming back to the Springs, I would move back into this place (except not on the first floor). However, I come back from Afghanistan in a couple months and I'm going to try my luck in Castle Rock (trying to get closer to Denver).
