Screwing the military

We moved in in July 05, signed a 3 month lease while our house was being built. We NEVER received a lease renewal agreement, as per the lease contract. We cleaned the apartment from top to bottom upon moving out so as not to meet any fees, but were told that because we did not give notice that we were not renewing our lease that we owe $750. After meeting with the JAG office, who got the price lowered to $600 (the management said it's standard to pay $150 for carpet cleaning, painting, etc.) we are still being forced to pay, even though our lease was clearly for 3 months, we made it known we were having a new house built, plus we have a baby on the way. Without a doubt the worst experience we have EVER had in an apartment complex and are already contacting the Better Business Bureau about these slum lords.
