A voice mail was left for maintenence to unclog a toilet in my apartment (one of about 7 items I've had to request maintenence on since I moved in almost 3 months ago - most of which unfixable and I was told to get used to the fact that I live in an apartment now). I informed them that I would be on vacation Monday-Wednesday and they would need to enter through the garage. According to neighbors they arrived Monday morning. The garages here are attached to the apartment. They left the exterior garage door wide open (it faces Lexington) and the interior door unlocked. My apartment stood wide open until Tuesday night when my children driving by with my x-husband, on an errand, spotted it about 8:00PM, called me on vacation and closed the garage for me. This did go down as a BURGLARY due to negligence of the apartments staff as I did have items rifled through and a garage door opener stollen (police report on file with CSPD). When I went into the office to ask what happened, I was told to come back at a later time to talk to Wendy (though I could see her through the glass office window) as she needed to "walk the property" prior to speaking with me. IF YOU VALUE YOUR SAFETY AND THAT OF YOUR FAMILY - DO NOT LIVE HERE. I would move if I didn't have less than 2 months here until the completion of my new home. THE COMMONS AT BRIARGATE PUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY AT RISK AND THEN BLEW ME OFF IN MY TIME OF NEED.
