I signed a 15 month lease with my roommate and am moving out after living there for ten months because of complications with my roommate, otherwise I'd stay. However, I got a smaller, cheaper place with my girlfriend in a different building in the same complex.

Now, about the former apartment: The price is decent for what you get. 649 is probably the lowest they'll go for a 2 bed 2 bath; we got a really good deal. The parking has its pros (covered parking!) and cons (almost always full so it sucks for guests and for some reason your assigned spot is nowhere near your apartment). I've never had any breaks ins.

Noise is...well, for the most part, not there. The people above us can have their tv blaring and I won't hear it unless I open the sliding door. I heard a crying baby every once in a while for a month or two, but it was very muffled. The only complaint I had with noise was the potheads next door to us, who threw wild, LOUD, parties almost every night. I finally told the office and they sent a letter. I haven't heard a peep from them since.

The appearance is fine. They're easily seen if you drive by. Everything looks nice except for the hedge that attacks me when I walk down the stairs to get to my apartment. If the potheads break a fire extinguisher box or throw dr pepper cans down in front of my door, maintenance will have it cleaned up within a few days. I've had no problems with safety.

The actual apartments are really nice on the inside. Not Windtree quality by any means, but definitely up there on the nice apartments list. I live on the first floor and it's sunk into the ground so it's kind of like a basement, so the floor is always cold. The outside walls are cold, but that's kind of a given. The only apartment complex I've visited (and I've visited a lot) that is not too expensive, and that has well insulated walls are the Tanglewood apartments. In my new apartment we are on the second floor, and I have absolutely no complaints about the cold.

Staff is outstanding. You can not have better. They are very knowledgeable and very accommodating. Just follow the contract and you'll be fine. Don't leave early or find someone else who will sign onto the lease so you can sign off. Read the fine print and they won't get mad at you. The contract is easy to understand and follow. People only get into trouble because they didn't follow the contract or left the place looking really gross. You can't treat them like crap and expect them to just take it.

Move in. If you have noise or maintenance issues, tell the office and they'll fix it quick. And don't get the first floor unless you like cold feet.
