Love it here! Super quiet

I live in an updated one bedroom on the second floor, and it's perfect for me. The neighbors in my building are all extremely quiet and friendly. I haven't had any problems since I've moved in over 3 months ago. The walls/ceilings are extremely well insulated from noise - at one point the people below me were having a party and I didn't even know it until I left my apartment and heard them on their balcony!
The staff is friendly and I've never had a problem. The parking near my building is awesome and I always find a close spot, although I can tell from walking around the complex that it isn't the case for all the buildings. You have the option of renting a covered parking spot or a garage (I think it's $20 for covered and $70 for a garage), but I don't. I feel extremely comfortable walking around the complex at night and often walk to get my mail well after midnight without worry.
The utilities for my one bedroom run about $65/month plus the $20/month community utilities. The Comcast cable guys that service the apartments actually live here and are super friendly and helpful. You have the option of having a washer/dryer in the unit or bringing your own. It's an additional $35/month if they're included in the unit and once they're in they won't take them back out.
The amenities here are awesome. The pool is gorgeous and the fitness center is small but updated with nice equipment. Each bike/elliptical/treadmill has it's own built in television (with cable!), which is nice. There's also a hot tub and tanning bed, but I've never used either. There's a DVD rental machine in the fitness center, vending machines and access to free Starbucks coffee during office hours.
I've never had an issue with bugs/spiders/mice. They've done preventative pest control twice in the past three months, so hopefully it stays that way.
Overall, I can not tell you how much I love living here. I've lived in several apartment complexes in my life and none of them compare to Grand River. It truly feels like home, not just another apartment.
