Much Improved!

I just want to put in a plug for the new management. I have lived in the Knolls Apartments for over 5 years now and have seen 3 management teams come and go. I will say that the newest management to take over for the past few months is the best thus far. They seem to be working very hard to make improvements and to correct oversights.
While the complex is far from perfect (potholes in the driveways and streets; small pool and minimal athletic facility; lack of convenient parking; too many owners who don't pick up after their dogs; air conditioning that isn't strong enough on the hot summer days) I have seen an increased effort on their part. Just recently, all of us received a letter posted on our doors reminding renters about walking their dogs on leashes and picking up after their animals. I have to say, this really is more of an owner/human incompetence and laziness issue than anything else. I suppose management could eventually resort to a no pet policy, but that would probably displease many a renter in this area. (New York is another matter entirely!)
As for the other matters, like the air conditioning, the pool, the old water pipes, the popcorn ceilings, the small kitchens, the lack of storage, the walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbor sneeze, etc. well, they would have to re-do the entire complex to make all the improvements that many of us would like to see! I've been though the interior and external renovations they completed 3 years ago and it was a nightmare!
Personally, I would rather argue for improvements that can be changed, including the significant issue about not having to pay for certain items, such as sewage and trash. How about free Wireless Internet as well' Now THAT would be a great perk. Or how about heat included' How great would that be' Or, even how about allowing renters to choose between Comcast and DirecTV or between Comcast high speed internet and QWest' Or how about offering recycling on the facility' How about fixing some of the broken pavement near the rear exit' I would also love to see more tenants using their outside lights to increase public safety.
Anyway, I think all comments need to be viewed with a grain of salt and are dependent entirely on the scope of a person's experience.
