I moved to Point of View Apartments last June 2006, but moved back to Long Beach California two months later. Everything about the apartment complex is filthy. The number on the door to my apartment was scribbled on with a pencil. We had neighbors arguing and cursing. The people living downstairs smoked weed all the time! The neighbors' children were very rude who constantly pounded on our door and tearing the screens off of the window frames. My brother's clothes were damaged after someone decided that they wanted to use the washer as a toilet, and yes, they did take a dump in it. My brother assumed the lease and was given the end of June 2007 to renew it. It was unfortunate that he was hospitalized in the critical ward. Even before his lease was up in June we had managed to empty out his apartment and returned the keys on June 14----long before the month ended. I even spoke to Lori informing her of what was going on and we both came to an understanding and her very words were " As long as the apartment is vacant and the keys returned, we shouldn't have any problems." Two months later, my brother's looking for another place to lease and he was slapped with an eviction and monies owed on his record. I called Lori and she didn't want to hear what I wanted to say and in doing so she yelled at me on the phone to drown me out. She told me that even though I had called her to let her know of my brother's decision to end his lease over the phone she needed it in writing, which she failed to inform me at the time of our conversation back in June. I tried explaining to her that my brother was unable to write or communicate at the time of hospitalization, but she showed no compassion and hung up on me screaming that she never wanted to hear from me, again.

Unfortunately you expect a manager to be a babysitter as well as cope with everyday problems! People should not rent an apartment if they only have an I.Q. that matches their shoe size! Weren't you taught to read in school? Oh, I forgot...the world owes you something..right? It is the residents responsibility to READ their lease. If you choose not to do so SHAME ON YOU. If you break your lease, which by the way is a promise to pay rent on the apartment, you pay the penalty and I am sure that you are only telling the side of the story that makes you feel better about breaking the lease. There are always two sides to a story and no one can see the complete picture from just one side. Hope you continue to feel good about your decision. Everyone has faults....lets hope that someone doesn't start pointing out yours on the internet.

Unfortunately, you do not understand what i just posted. My brother didn't break the lease. The time to renew his lease was approaching. Having to drop everything and drive to Colorado from California---we had to make a decision fast according to my brother's request which was not to renew his lease. Bottom line is, my brother was in critical condition and unable to write or talk and I called you to let you know---let me reiterate what YOU said---"Just as long as the apartment is vacant and we receive the keys back(which we returned to your office the next day)we shouldn't have any problems." So Lori, I know you know that you are just telling YOUR side of the story that makes you feel better about the situation. So don't go posting anonymous responses when you very well knew what happened. Shame on you for posting this to save your a$$ from getting fired! By the way everything I described about Point of View Apartments is true.
