Retreat at Cheyenne Mountain

WOW, why didn't I find this b4 moving here! From: TheRetreatSucks Date posted: 12/30/2007 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007   THE MANAGEMENT HERE IS HORRIBLE, WATER BILLS ARE OUTRAGEOUS! This looks like such a nice place, beware, it's a trap. Our water only bill has been above $65 almost every month and it's going to go up again next month. The management is going to charge us extra because we have a new baby. I'm sure that our baby is going to use up sOooooo much water. I have had two seperate incidents of theft. One from our apartment within the first week of moving here and one from our un attached garage. The first was definately staff, as the items in question were here prior to the staff working in our unit and then gone immediately after they left. I was yelled at and ridiculed by the management for accusing them. The second theft was from our garage and there are no signs of break in. Oh, and by the way, when I was getting yelled at by the management, I asked (since she was so sure that her staff had nothing to do with it) if they have ever had any problems with keys being stolen out of their office or other thefts from the property. She swore there has never been a problem here. What a crock of ----! Just read some of the other reviews. Items that we wrote down as damaged or broken when we moved in still haven't been take care of. When the staff installed our W/D, they broke it. Our garage has holes cut in the ceiling from repairs to water pipes and still haven't been fixed in over 4 months. As far as the gates are concerned, they finally just now got them working again, BUT the call in system doesn't work worth beans. Guests and deliveries can't get in unless they follow someone else in. Prices on the internet are not honored! We were originally looking at a larger unit which my wife saw on their own website for a little over $1,000. When we went in to rent it, we were told that we didn't know what we were talking about, that the units are never that cheap and that we must have made a mistake. Of course as soon as we got home we checked online again and there was the price. It was changed within 10 minutes. OVERWATERED is an understatement. Swamp is definately more like it. Oh yeah, for two months we complained about a sprinkler hitting our bedroom window. Not only was the sprinkler hitting our window, it was hitting the parking lot and barely hitting the grass area. After two month of not being able to sleep at 10pm or 2am we finally gave up and fixed the sprinkler ourselves. Stupid management kept saying that it was fixed. Let their worthless rear ends try to sleep through a high power sprinkler hitting your bedroom window twice a night. Then we couldn't even open our windows during the summer months to enjoy the cool nights. Worthless is an understatement of the managements ability to run this place. As for the parking issue, it is an issue, people do not honor the fact that you are renting a parking space. They park wherever they wish. NOISE... until our neighbors above us moved out, we could hear everything. Them walking across their floor, opening and closing doors. And the worst thing is the water pipes, both water supply and water drains. When they flush the toilet you can tell the difference between solids and liquids as it beats down the pipes in your walls. BUGS, BUGS and More BUGS!!!! WOW, when we moved in we found approximately 20 to 30 rolly polly bugs all over our carpet. OK we thought, no big deal, the apartment has been empty for a while, I figured they would have cleaned it prior to us moving in, but it's forgivable. After vacuuming and moving in we went to sleep. When we woke up for the next two months our house was filled with as many as 200 different bugs, mostly rolly polly bugs. However we also found millipedes and centipedes (don't believe us, we've still got the pictures), crickets, worms and earwigs. After complaining the first two times we were told by the pitiful excuse for management that we should have expected this living on the ground floor. We were then told that this would be the normal for the summer months. YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDIN' ME! I finally complained enough that they agreed to have the exterminator call us to set up an appointment to spray. It wasn't until the 3rd month that we lived here that they finally showed up to spray. Even then, my can of RAID did whole hell of a lot better job than the pathetic job they did. I could go on and on, but I am getting ever more pissed the more I remember the problems we have had. All I can say is I can't wait till the end of our lease to get the hell out of here. Oh yeah, but I have to remeber to give 60 days notice before leaving. STUPID. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID. DON'T RENT HERE, THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. RUN, RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
