I call them theives.
On January 30th, 2007, Tenant signed a Rental Agreement effective from February 7, 2007 through April 6, 2007, affording Tenant the ability to occupy Apartment during this time duration. On 01/30/07, at the table, Tenant clearly informed Ridgepointe that he would be departing Ridgepointe at the conclusion of this lease to move into his house.
Tenant notified Ridgepointe verbally, at the table when signing the lease, that he was moving into his house at the end of March, and
Tenant succinctly and specifically told Ridgepointe that he would not be occupying his apartment beyond the end of March, nor, once cleaned, have any further obligation to compensate Ridgepointe for said occupation beyond the agreed date of April 6, 2007, and upon reading the lease section regarding 30-day notice, it Tenant understood the lease to address month-to-month leases and his understanding was not contravened by
Ridgepointe at the time of the signing of the lease, and the lease Tenant signed was a two month lease, and
Ridgepointe did not notify Tenant 30-day s prior to the end of his lease that a written notice was required from him, and the lease section regarding 30-day notice did not specifically address a short-term lease, and
Ridgepointe knowing the above, at the time of the lease signing did not advise Tenant to hand in written notice to vacate at the end of March, and
Tenant spoke on the phone with Ridgepointe secretary from Ridgepointe on 03/24/07, and with Ridgepointe Property Manager from Ridgepointe on 03/26/07, and
Ridgepointe per Ridgepointe Property Manager has demonstrated unwillingness to acknowledge the actual facts of this case as enumerated above, and
Ridgepointe Property Manager insisted on the phone, on 03/26/2007, to Tenant that he owes Ridgepointe $146.00 through April 6th and $520.60 for the remaining period through April 26, 2007.

Anyone who signs a lease with an apartment should know that nobody is exempt from giving a 30 day notice. You signed the lease, you should pay the consequences. As another tenant who will be vacating in June after living here for over two years, I have known from day one that you need to give 30 days. Simple business/rental principle.
