nice place in co springs

My husband and I didn't get to visit Colorado Springs before moving here, so we had to find an apartment online. The Sagebrook people were very good about helping us as soon as possible. The first rental agreement they faxed us stated a much higher price than we were orignially quoted, but it was fixed with one phone call the next day. The apartment complex is fairly nice and quiet. The pool, jacuzzi and workout room are all small, but nice and functional. The apartment (I have a 1 bedroom) is also small, but nice. I particualrly like the off-white paint and white crown molding in the living room, as well as the large windows. The appliances are brand new and overall the place is much nicer than many apartments I've seen. Still, there are places where you can tell they cut corners. For instance, my fireplace wasn't properly taped off when they repainted and someone obviously just tried to wipe off some semi-dry paint. There are also paint "drips" on one counter and one corner of the carpet. The counters in the bathroom and kitchen are also fairly cheap, although the doors are very pretty and clean-looking. My biggest complaint with the apartment is that there is a lot of wasted closet space. With nine foot ceilings, there is a lot of extra room in the top of all the closets but there are no existing shelves and I am afraid to put my own up because I'm not planning to live here long-term. Also, my husband currently works until late at night and he can never find a parking place in the lot in front of our apartment, so he ends up walking across the complex. That's not a problem if you pay the extra money per month for a garage. The grounds are well-lit at night, and you can only hear the neighbors if they are screaming inthe hallway or have their stereo up really loud, or if you have windows open of course. There are always maintence people on duty. I have not had any problems yet, but I see them frequently tending to areas of the complex. Whatever problems tenants had in the past must have left with the previous owner. Also, very military friendly, as well as pet and child friendly. There are people of all ages and walks of life here. My father vwho was visiting here commented on how well-built the outsides of the buildings are. I'm not sure yet about insulation, since it's not winter yet, but already it gets fairly cool in side at night - I've only used the heater twice however. One more thing - you pay water and sewer fees to the aparment complex eahc month. Ours is around $13.00.
