I've been living in the Retreat for a few months now and don't have many complaints. It was important for me to live in the safe part of the city which I think this is. I also wanted a nice playground for my kids and I think they have one of the best ones in the city. I had couple of minor repairs done in the apartment and the maintenance crew fixed it the next day. I've been lucky to have good neighbors as well, only one of my neighbors was loud and inconsiderate playing loud music at night and after reporting the problem to the management the problem was taken care of.
The only thing the management doesn't reinforce is irresponsible dog owners who don't clean after their pets. I mean, you should really watch your step. The kitchen cabinets and fixtures could be newer, but that's why we're not paying the rent a hundred or so more. All in all, I might change the apartment in a year or so, but it's really hard to find something better than the Retreat in the same price range.
