This is the kind of sad example of a pretty good setup, in a bad neighborhood. I can honestly say I enjoyed our 1BR Loft with Vaulted Ceilings and Great View. The neighbors were quiet and Maintenance was OK.
On the Flip side I can also Honestly say, My wife was always wondering when the Cops would show up again. This place had the Liqueor store get Robbed, the Subway Robbed and my wife even witnessed a girl getting dragged up to an apartment screaming and yellng and trying to get away from some man one night. Plus, my car and my wife's Jeep were broken into, I lost almost my entire CD collection. I never could get past the area to really enjoy what I had and when the Management decided to Up my Rent when my second lease expired, I said, "You've got to be kidding." They actually wanted me to pay $785 for a 1BR with about 700 square feet.
We left and never looked back. I highly suggest you to shop around and investigate the area you will be living in before committing to something.
