Pet friendly - just not clean or quiet

The Cons: This complex is located off of a busy road with a lot of traffic, including emergency vehicles. The walls are horribly insulated, so I could hear my neighbors conversations as if I was in the room with them, not to mention their other activities, embarrassing and otherwise. I don't think I ever got a full nights sleep due to noise, and it was affecting my health and my work. The residents don't clean up after their animals and the management doesn't enforce cleanliness, so you are often watching where you step. There were areas that animal dung remained for months at a time. Many areas are not lit at night, providing safety hazards, letting alone the ability to not find any puppy suprises until it is too late - just gross. The tenant clientelle was also sub par and I often felt unsafe and there was a bit of vandalism. Althought they say they do background checkes, when it comes to the bottom line and a dollar, it seems that they would let anybody rent if they had the money. The part of town the complex is located in is very low on the social-economic scale and their isn't much for convenience of shopping close by. They are all about 10 minutes away.

The Pros: Beautiful view if you are lucky enough to get the one side of apartments that gives you one (I would estimate that about 20% of the apts get a good view otherwise your view is of other apartments, so no privacy). The staff seemed friendly, which was the deciding factor in choosing to rent with them, however that would change if I needed anything from them - they were very strict and rude at times, otherwise, mindless chatter was always given cheerfully and all other confrontations were avoided as much as possible.

Overall: For the price of the apartment, I expected more. I couldn't wait to get out. Also, not very impressed with how they provided services. For example, you have expecations to pay your rent and utilites on time which is fair enough, buy if you ask them questions about their policies or services, they are very aggressive and don't explain them thoroughly and can become quite rude, but when it comes time for things to get fixed or even your deposit back, you must wait up to two months before they consider it worthy of a complaint. This seems to be quite typical of apartment management, but their initial friendliness made it seem that this would not be the case. Finally, I don't think that this would be a great place to stay if you have children.
