Well this is the first apartment place I've had...and I really expected more.

First of all...unless you have an ABNORMAL tolerance for noise, you shouldn't live anywhere but the third floor. I don't know if the guys living above me are TRYING to be loud or it's just poor construction. But they stomp around like elephants...and they wake up a couple hours before I have to and it sounds like they're jumping from the top bunk of bunk beds.

Secondly...the appliances are old. I mean really old. My refrigerator shakes and rattles every time it shuts off like someone is trapped inside trying to get out.

Thirdly...the drains have never worked right. I hate to make Dran-o a regular part of my apartment expense. I would clean out the drains regularly to try to make a difference, and when I take a shower the tub STILL fills up faster than it drains.

Fourth - When I moved in...the place was a mess! There was a broken, un-replaced light bulb in the bathroom...hadn't been vaccummed....paint job was shoddy and quickly done to get it over with.

Fifth- The window rattles even when shut...and it's SOOOOOO windy up here that it keeps me awake nights.

Sixth - The parking by my building SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to arrive about an hour and a half earlier than I do back from work to park within what seems like a half a mile of my building. And let me tell ya, that's a LOT of fun in 30 mph winds trying to lug in groceries.

So that's my story. I don't really like bad-mouthing places so maybe it was just my instance. But somehow I don't think so.

Nope, you are not alone! Our place had broken glass in the livingroom when we were doing the walk through. Great idea with our children playing on the carpet. We couldn't even open the closets b/c they painted them shut! The parking everywhere sucks and people drive 60 mph in the lots up the hill. DON"T WALK IN THE DARK... You will be run over, as there are NO speed bumps to slow people down. Not to mention the blowing trash from the dumpsters. They don't get emptied regularly and trash is always overflowing from them. YUK!
