Pretty decent for a first timer

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007

I'm a current resident of a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment with a fireplace. I play $510.00 a month for rent and my electric bills falls anywhere between $20.00 to $70.00, I think was the highest during winter. I've lived here for almost a year now. I was originally on a 6-month lease and I did renew it for another 6 months. After my year is up, I'm definitely moving out. It's not because this place is horrible, it's just mediocre.

POSITIVES:
STAFF: The staff is really nice and they are really helpful, especially the manager. Sometimes, it s hard getting a leasing agent to help you, but when the manager (Carmen) picks up the phone, she ll actually get things done.
RENT PRICE: I moved here because the 510.00 a month really sounded great. They pay for everything else except electric and I did end up saving a lot of money because of this.
VIEW: Like some of the other residents stated, they're beautiful on the outside because they're on a hill
and there's a great view of the mountains behind them, but once you get inside, it is somewhat of a disappointment.
LOCATION: I did like the location. It was pretty close to Tinseltown theatre, Safeway, Wal-Mart, gas station and fast food places.
INVOLVEMENT: The management plans fun activities for the residents. They had something for the children on Halloween and during Christmas time, they gave us an opportunity to have free professional photographs done. They have monthly newsletters that has updated information, fun pacts and etc.
CLUBHOUSE: The club house is amazing! They have a full size pool table, a HUGE flat screen TV with cable and a computer with internet access. It can also be rented for parties. Also, they have a gym with free weights and all. That is open 24/7 which is great for all you gym buffs. You can work out anytime.
COVERED PARKING: I believe it s 10 or 20 dollars extra each month.
SECURITY: They have a security company that has a driver who circles the property at night. It definitely made me feel safe.

NEGATIVES:
The thing I disliked the most is the set up. There isn t a place for a table and you have walk into the bedroom to get to the bathroom. I did have a few problems like with the kitchen sink, bathtub drainage
and mice. Another thing that really did annoy me was not being able to use the fireplace when I wanted too. Our neighbors upstairs did complain a lot about it being used because the smoke would just shoot up to their place. I did call several times about getting this fixed, but I didn t get to speak to Carmen so it didn t get fixed.
The laundry room was another thing that drove me crazy. I just think the washers and dryers were old and they didn t do their jobs like they should have. To wash is 1.00 and to dry is another. They have a change machine but its location is in the main office which is no where near the laundry room. There was a period of time where half of the dryers just did not work at all. They weren t fast in fixing this, which was a huge annoyance.
The pet deposit I think is ridiculously high. I think it s just to discourage having pets at all. The weight limit if I m not mistaken is like 50 lbs. And I believe the deposit is 300.00 and 100.00 of it s non-refundable. But I guess this makes up for not paying for a pet each month.
The last annoyance were my neighbors. But that wasn t anything on the management.

Overall, I d say it s a decent place to live. It s definitely not the best, but it s not the worst either. Like I said, I think this place is better suited for couples without children or single parents or first timers.
