I moved to Wind Tree because the location was good and I wanted to have a dog. However, I was not allowed to see my apartment until the lease was signed and I was ready to move in. (I was shown a sparkling clean model apartment when I came to check the complex out.) The person who lived in the apartment before me obviously had cats that urinated on the carpet. I was also welcomed by a colony of ants in the bedroom closet. They did send someone out to spray for the ants. The person who came to take care of the carpet was greasy-looking and he had a spray bottle in his hand. Cat urine does not come out of a carpet with a spray bottle. Of course, this is one of the risks with living in a pet-friendly complex. It just would have been helpful to actually see and smell the apartment before I signed a lease to live there. The people in the office are not very professionally savvy. I say this because I have heard them be rude to another resident in my presence. It is very immature to not keep your cool. I have also had problems with maintanence. My requests are reasonable but it can take weeks to get something done; for example, a leaky kitchen faucet. The faucet is not a big deal but please be honest about the fact that it might take 3 or 4 weeks before you can get to it. I have experienced this sluggishness on several occasions, even though I was continually promised that "someone would out there this week." It is especially frustrating to wait so long for a repair and then read in the community newsletter that the management is available to help with any need so "please don't hesitate to call us. Your satisfaction is our top priority." Some of the other tenants are inconsiderate. I can hear their music and parties at all hours. If you are into music and parties, the noise shouldn't be a problem. The rent is fairly reasonable, the location is nice, and you can have a pet. I just would not call this place "wonderful." I would also insist on seeing and smelling the apartment before I moved in.
