I've lived at the windmill apartments for over 2 years and went in to pay my rent today and had one request... Because my father DIED 4 days ago and I couldn't afford the trip back to Florida to go to the funeral, I'd sent flowers which cost me $70.00 well, I told them that I'd have the balance of my rent (which is $60.) next Tuesday, could they NOT charge me the $80.00 in late fee's. They told me NO, if I didn't have the whole thing, NO MATTER5 WHAT THE REASON, then I'd have to pay the late fee's. Like I said, my father died and they are SO heartless that they wouldn't even waive a late fee for something that I could show them, I.E. the death certificate, obituary and receipt for the flowers THEY DO NOT CARE!!!! I used to love living here because when I moved in there were security gates, flowers and a much nicer office staff but now I'm just STUCK here because of the lease! But I'll tell you, when the lease comes due again, NO WAY will I stay here!!! The gates are down, the flowers are gone and the staff doesn;t care about ANYTHING but the almighty dollar so the heck with them!!! I guess when EVERYONE else in the other units moved out within 7 months after I moved in, I should have planned on leaving right along with them NO they were not deployed military which is what the managers here TRIED to tell me, I had phone numbers on a few of them and know better!! They lie here so stay away!!! Tomorrow morning I'm going back over to the office and ask for the owning corporations e-mail and phone number and let them know how VERY un-happy ALOT of the residents are with windmill apartments, it SUCKS! Thanks for listening and heed my warning, rent someplace else but here!!
LindaC. soon to be an EX-esident!

Perhaps this resident didn't take into consideration that this was the 8th time she was late...or perhaps she won't even consider all the nice things the staff did for her instead of only focusing on the fact that they have to still do their job and collect everyones rent. Perhaps if her lease was up, she would have put in a notice to leave, but since she didn't, the management had to choose not to renew to her because of the on-going problems that happend since she moved in. For instance, how about the T.V. that was put on her patio, but when asked to remove it from the patio, she couldn't because of health issues. She asked the staff to do it for her, and without complaint, we did. How about when the staff waived late fees for her? How about focusing on the time when undergoing eviction due to non-payment, she called from the court house and BEGGED to stay? What about all those times? The staff at Windmill do have a heart, and do care. The flowers and landscaping are the best in the area, or other apartment communities wouldn't be calling us asking who does our landscaping. We have awesome curb appeal, and a management staff that care, but also are required to do their jobs and part of that is collecting rent and implementing policies. We have residents that have been here for 10 years, and as of July, 2005 we have renewed over 3/4 of the residents leases that are expiring. These are residents that are happy due to exceptional maintenance, courteous staff, and reasonable rules that are easy to follow. We don't expect anything out of the ordinary. But, for some reason, most of the complainers on this review site, are ones that were doing something wrong, and when caught, they became disgruntled. I hope that this can be taken into consideration. Sincerely, the Manager
