Loveed the pretty boating/fishing pond

The complex across the lake is nicer. I lived here for 5 years while my husband was stationed at Buckley AFB. The building is built just as cheaply as the average new home in Colorado, however, I only had one maintenance problem while we lived there. The outside walls are poorly insulated and any room with two outside walls will never get warm during the winter. We had to keep our thermostat at 80 to keep our baby from freezing. The fireplaces do almost as good as the heater. Our microwave went out and three days after I reported it I had a brand new one! I like that maintenance does not enter your apartment when you're not there without your signed permission and there is a second deadbolt that is only accesible from the inside so mainenance never walks in and surprises you. The upstairs vaulted ceilings are wonderful until a light burns out or the smoke alarm batteries need changing and you have to wait several days. I had apartment #1422 and I could have fished from my balcony. My husband, son, and I took many walks around the pond and we have a lot of great pictures and memories from those walks. There is a park at the complex across the pond you can use. Yeah, the office is unorganized, unprofessional when you have a real problem, and it is in Aurora's ghetto. The pool is rarely heated but always clean. There are very well heated changing rooms outside. The hot tub is open year-round. There are neighborhood parties for most holidays. Once we got a loud bang, bang on our door at 11pm and it was some detictives, guns drawn and everything, they were looking for some drug dealer. They thought I was her. The kitchen must have been designed by a man who had never set foot in a kitchen before. The dish washer, when open, blocks the sink and the only functional cabinet in the kitchen. The cabinets are not deep enough to hold the average full size plate. I agree this whole place was built based on looks. the refrigerator door, laundry room door, and doors on the stacked washer and dryer all fight for the same tiny space leaving little room for doing laundry.
