Ghetto-ish

I've been here three months. Here's are my observations:
1. You should plan on keeping your windows closed at all times unless you want to hear neighbors having loud, expletive-packed fights or loud sex. Or the constant thudding of a basketball or the constant barking of dogs that have been locked out on patios while their owners are away.
2. The appliances are new and attractive. But the oven temperature is unpredictable, as is the water temperature.
3. There's a lot of gang-related graffiti. The maintenance staff keeps painting over it, but it keeps popping back up again.
4. Utility costs are reasonable.
5. Most of the staff is nice. But every time I need something (like to get into the building when my magnetic key randomly stops working)I have to wait a good long time for them to finish up with a potential renter.
6. Although it's a "gated community" the gates tend to malfunction frequently. Also, the gates are not very sensitive to the magnetic entry cards which causes cars to line up behind one another waiting to get in. The magnetic devices that get you in and out of the buildings are a great idea, but twice they have stopped working, locking me out. Not a good thing if it's late night or early morning and there's no office staff to help.
In summary, I moved here to save money. And I guess I'm getting what I'm paying for. It's definitely liveable, but not preferable. Make sure you know where your priorities are.
