I have almost completed my second year living at Aero Flats, and am having mixed feelings about it. Honestly, I was incredibly happy my first year there. My move-in date was changed three times before I actually moved in, but it was all within the same month, so all is forgiven in that regard. However, once new management came in and some managers left (Ian, in particular), I have become more and more unhappy. And, unfortunately, they left right after I renewed my lease. No luck, I guess.

Yes, the apartment was hot during the summers, but as many have already stated, we were not paying for central air conditioning, so I cannot complain on that hand. However, I did not agree to pay for an equal share of NWP utilities. It does not make sense that as a resident of a one-bedroom apartment, I need to chip in for those in 2-bedrooms, particularly ones that house a family. And it also saddens me that I JUST learned about this through others on the site. I wish I had been notified! Notification is also nice when a package comes in. This was handled perfectly my first year here, but now I find that I need to track my packages online in order to know if they have arrived. I'm not sure how many packages may have been sent to me, and I may have never received.

A little more storage space would be nice... maybe one more closet aside from the walk-in'

The gate on the Trenton side does not seem to work unless you get out of the car; if I'm feeling too lazy to get out of my car in order to open the gate, I usually drive around to the Ulster gate -- the sensor there does always seem to work.

Parking was never an issue until recently when my roommate's car was towed without reason. As it is a long story, I will not go into it, but a formal complaint has been filed with Carmel Partners for re-imbursement.

Lastly, the recent, ongoing construction has been a bit difficult to deal with, particularly on sporadic Saturday mornings when the noise begins. I do appreciate a pool upgrade, but the old one was just fine: I was looking forward to laying by it this summer and found it to be a bit of a disappointment that I couldn't!

As for the good things, the fitness center is definitely a good one. Sure, there are times where a treadmill might need to be fixed, but luckily there is more than one! The buildings are cleaned daily, which is very nice, and I have had no problems with any of my appliances as of yet. I love that I have a washer and dryer in my apartment, as well. When I moved in, my apartment was newly re-carpeted and very aesthetically pleasing.

So when it comes down to it, I would have to say that I would not recommend this property. And this is only because I have decided to move out only for reasons that I would like something better, not due to being forced for a job/family obligations/etcetera.

I agree with you about the washer/dryer. The stack units are small, but very effective and reliable. I was here when all the towing occurred. Aero Flats is just flat out terrible at providing this little thing called "adequate notice." In regards to the towing, Aero Flats was having a contractor come in and re-stripe the parking lots. The TRENTON side was done on a Tuesday and the ULSTER side was done on Wednesday. Notice was provided on Monday afternoon (of that same week). Yes, I said MONDAY. I had been out of town the week before on business so I could have easily been screwed over if I left my vehicle at Aero Flats.

All these issues have been going on since DAY 1 after the original rennovation about 4 yrs ago. The European tin ranges have been issues since they were installed, as well as the gate and the heat/utilities problems. I moved in as one of the first original tennants, and as I read these 4 years of posts, it seems that the problems get progressivly worse. I lived here when the Corp office came in and completely changed the management staff due to obvious reasons. I guess things still haven't changed. I used to think that all apartment communities were the same, but after I moved from old Capitol Hill to Aeroflats to an apartment townhome community (Carriage Place Apts) in the heart of DTC, I have found that only this place has all the problems. I now handle real estate, and with the current market with an overabundance of available condos & townhomes, you may wish to consider buying. Your mortgage can be even lower than rent.
