Good price, great DTC location, bad HVAC

It's a great location - close to anything in DTC. The fitness center was great when we moved in, but deteriorated over the year (2005-2006) that we lived there. Exercise bike seat broke, free weights were stolen, and one of the treadmill TVs had the cords torn out. Management said they were waiting on a part from the manufacturer. It's been 5 months, and it's still not repaired.
Apartment air conditioning was a joke. The little wall unit sort of seeps a little cold air out the sides, but it doesn't actually blow air outward. Seems to have no fan, or at least a very wimpy one. Given the other comments, our apartment is not the only one with this problem. Heating is very poor, too. But fortunately our apartment was very small (studio - 500 sq ft) so we hardly ever needed to use the heat all winter.
Could tell the plumbing had years of monkey mechanics working on it. Shower stopped working - they fixed it, but now the knobs are totally screwed on crooked.
But the staff is very professional - they really do respond to requests right away.
Guy upstairs had anger problems and yelled a lot.
Amenities are minimal, but it's really reasonable pricing for the area, and not ghetto by any means.
