Horrible and Deplorable

These apartments had sort of a retro feel, which we really liked and at 750 sq.
ft.
for a one bedroom, they are decent sized, which was why we moved in there.
However, these are supposed to be secure buildings-- they are not-- the locks on the doors to our building were broken and a lot of times, people would come in off the street.
The carpeting was old and nasty.
The stove was broken and when I told the manager about it repeatedly, nothing was done.
All the appliances were old.
I tried to move the refrigerator away from the wall to clean behind it and it was lodged so tightly, I couldn't budge it.
Upon further examination, I found that the fridge had probably never been moved-- the swamp thing was living back there.
Also, the heat did not work the entire time we lived there, even though we reported it SEVERAL times.
Our front door did not have a proper lock and we had to purchase our own slide bolt.
Also upon moving in, the toilet seat in the bathroom was broken, filthy and not even attached to the toilet, the shower curtain rod was torn down and tossed in the corner-- we replaced both of these and were never re-imbursed.
Quite plainly, this apartment was FILTHY and DISGUSTING!!! I cried the day we moved in.
The laundry room always had someone else's clothes in the machines, sometimes for days and we ended up going to the laundromat, which was cleaner and cheaper anyway.
And there was a creepy little guy that used to go into the laundry room and shut the door and smoke pot in there-- why that would be preferable to doing it in your own place is beyond me.
The manager, at the time, was so sweet when we were paying the rent, but if we had a maintenance issue, she turned into a ----- b****.
The neighbors were mostly horrible-- loud music, fighting, slamming doors at all hours of the night.
Cops were up and down our street every day and night-- not just for our complex but also the one across the street.
I would not recommend this garbage dump to anyone.
You can do better.

The creepy little guy is not smoking pot, he's smoking crack. The police are always across the street and then they come over to our area being loud and fighting. The manager seems nice until you tell her you have a problem. Everything in the apartment is old and needs to be replaced. fridge leaks like a river. hate it here...
