Building B okay, Building A not

I really can't understand why this is the case- the buildings are right next to each other- but Building A is in terrible condition. It has all of the bug and pest problems, and the elevator looks like it was attacked with a sledgehammer. Building B is clean and has a freshly renovated elevator cab. Live in Building B or don't bother.
Foxfire has more problems than it used to. The front door won't always close (or lock!) and this has never been fixed. You are more likely to find trash in the parking lot and in the hallways. There is more noise and more things turn up broken. I don't if it's the management, a general belt-tightening by the owner, or pressure to fill the place to capacity even if it means renting to miscreants and louts- whatever the case, it's not the place it used to be, and that's sad. Compared to the other wrecks you find in this town (the Tiffany, for example), Foxfire is still a gem, but it used to be a -great- gem. When my lease is up in 6 months I don't think that I will re-sign.

Building A's elevator is scheduled for rehab (as we have told people) soon. It gets very very expensive to do remodeling projects when so much has been done already (i.e. the remodeling of ALL the units in the last 3-4 years). People complain that they want the rents to stay low, yet they also want everything upgraded and remodeled. I apologize if you are unhappy. Perhaps if people would quit littering so much on the property, there would not be trash from time to time. I assure you the grounds are done daily and the property looks beautiful, unless someone does something destructive. Bug and pest problem? Please inform us if you have a pest. By writing anonymous complaints, we can't help you. As far as the front door goes, it DOES lock and close. People don't always shut it properly...or there have been times where a rock or something gets jammed in the doorframe. Please call in if you see something like that so that we can take care of it immedietly. If people do not let us know they have a work order, we can't fix it. Please call if you have further complaints, concerns, or anything you would like to discuss! We will continue to do our best to make FF a clean, beautiful and comfortable community. -MANAGER 303-758-4618 |

Five months have passed. Building A's elevator looks the same. No rehab work has been done. How soon is soon, exactly? The religious folk tell me that Judgment Day is coming "soon," too. Which do you think will get here first?
Since management never seems to notice anything unless told (and then when you tell them, they'll shrug their shoulders and say "I know" and tell you it will be fixed "soon"), here's a short list of things they might want to look at:
The "0" and "1" of 1015's door number fell off a month ago. I see they have painted in crude versions of the stick-on numbers. Very classy.
The stair-climbing machine has been broken for months.
The exercise room television has been broken for many, many months. It's a small model- try Goodwill for a replacement. The TV had a remote, several I believe, all of which were eventually stolen.
Five stairway doors have broken door hardware (four have loose strike plates with no screws; one has no catch on the frame). Another six do not close properly. The basement and front doors in Building B do not close and lock all the time- these are self-closing doors and should not require someone to shut them "properly."
The water damage on the first floor of building A has been there for at least a month.
The panels covering the stairwell water pipe in building B have been removed (and lying on the ground) for at least two months.
One full bag of trash left on the south stairwell of building A. One small bag of trash left on the ground at the front entrance to B.
Down to three working, unbroken pool cues. No changes for months.
Stereo playing in one end of building A so loud it could be heard from the other end of the hall.
So there you go. Plenty of things to tackle- "soon."
