This building is a HUD building for seniors and the disabled. Although not in the best area of town, the building is kept up, the grounds are emaculate and I never had any problems with the maintenance crew. They always promptly corrected issues that came up. The best of this apartment building is the staff. They are so nice and courteous, they handle problems fairly, and they do not put up with people who cause problems. The apartments are regularly inspected for bugs, which I never saw any while I lived there, for maintenance issues that have not been addressed, and to make sure the fire alarms and other safety equipment are working properly.

I would highly recommend this apartment complex.

Probably written by the management. Or one of the smokers who live/lived there. Grafitti on the elevators, bedbugs and cockroaches in the basement laundry room, No clocks or decorations because the tenants steal them. The lawn is minimal for a twelve story building, but it doesn't matter, we were only allowed to walk in the area designated for dogs' elimination. Growing a garden was discouraged. One time the wind gusted and two apartments had their windows blown out...from the tenth floor. Maintenance put up plywood, but didn't seal the windows. Two sisters lived in the two apartments, and they were in their late 80's. It took some vocal demonstrations to get maintenance to properly seal them. And, maintenance is not always available, even though Sonny lives in the building, acting more like a bouncer than someone there to serve tenants. Very lazy about snow removal, the winter I lived there, three people broke bones from falls on the ice. Golden Spike is sliding into slumlord run place, where all it matters is to keep the boxes filled with dollar generating tenants.

This complex is owned by a non-profit organization to provide extremly low rent for elderly and disabled in need. There fore they cannot be the money hungry people you make them out to be. Again Non-Profit to help those in need.
