We haven't even been here 1 year & I am counting down the days until our lease is up. Let me run down the issues that this place has:
1. The hot water is brownish/red. They have had numerous "plumbers" come here & say that it is something we have to live with. It gross, we are taking showers in that stuff.
2. The hot water is so hot, I had to go to an energency clinic when I first moved here for burns on my hands. This appartantly is something they can't fix either. I hope no kids turn on the hot water... the owners will be in for a lawsuit.
3. The garage door only opens when it wants to. Again... something they can't fix. I am paying for a space that I only use maybe 75% of the time.
4. The general attitude of this place sucks. You call in for something to get fixed, schedule a time, & it never gets done. (happens all the time.) You call about it later & they treat you like you are a HUGE annoyance. Plus, if you want to talk to someone other than the manager, good luck. They will try to not give you the number & if you do get it, good luck having anyone call you back from the main office.
5. The hot water goes out at least 1x per week. If it rains, snows, or is windy, the hot water goes out. The boiler is on the roof & any sort of wind or precipitation blows out the light. Again, good luck with it being turned back on quickly. One time it took an entire day in the winter for us to have hot water again.
6. They have after hours emergency service, but when you call the number, no one ever calls you back.
7. The common areas are filthy. There is trash everywhere. The elevators & walls have been defaced (tagged) & not painted over. It is embarassing to have company over. It looks like we live in the projects.
8. The building has a pool, but the city's Code Enforcement department shut it down.
9. In the winter, they don't even plow the surface lot for the residents. It is SO hard to get your car out of the lot. They won't even scrape the sidewalks & that is a city ordinance! That doesn't really surprise me though.... They generally don't care about anything here. The underground parking garage has an extremely steep drive that goes down to the garage. When you leave the garage, you have to drive waaaay up the drive to get back to the street. They don't even shovel that! When I first moved here, it snowed & I tried to get my car out of the garge. It slid back down the drive back into the garage. I can't even leave the apartments unless the snow has melted... unless I want to walk somewhere.

Most of the people here feel sorry for the manager. It is obvious she is trying as hard as she can, but she probably doesn't get a huge amount of support from the owners'. She is expected to do most of everything.,... even maintenance. They hire maintenance guys to come out 1x per week. These men do not speak a lick of English, so trying to communicate with them is extremely difficult. What you need fixed ends up not geting done correctly. (see #4 above)

The only thing I like about this building is that it is 2 blocks from Cheesman Park. That is it. I would NEVER recommened this building to anyone.... ever. I can't wait to move.
