I got out in time

I spent 6 months there when it was Lake & Raquet and the other 6 months when it was taken over by new management before it was formally Lakes @ Monaco.
I do agree - staff don't care. I observed the new management not even wanting to work with residents at the time with easing the pain of $100 across the board rent increases. In my case, they went through the motion of pulling out the file and then 1 second later, "Oh sorry, we can't keep your rent at what it is!"
What made me not renew'
1. Mailbox access - Your should have a right and privilege to access your mailbox 24/7. However, this is the only management that seems to believe that some people who live there are professionals who work past 10pm Thus, all that wasted time & gas to come back home in the day just to get your mail and go back to work because you know you're not coming back until after 10.
2. During the duck & geese birthing season, these animals are territorial with their newborns and tend to bite if you invade their space. They warn you with their scary hisses. You figure that management would care to warn you. No! You'd expect some notice of 'Do not disturb these animals- They are protecting their young.' But hey, when you get a flyer instead at the same time that says 'Pool's open this weekend!" where is their priority at'
3. This is interesting and it says a lot - I moved because they were going to raise my rent $100, in part due to the fact that they were going to build carports. Well, I ended up getting a job that was literally right next to Lakes @ Monaco - and it took way over 1 year from that notice before they even started building them!!

If you're interested, they only built about two dozen garages/carports & the garages are $90/month! As if the utility bills aren't bad enough. After the blizzard last Dec, most of the residents couldn't open their garage doors because the power to them didn't work & there aren't any manual releases on them.
