The mail room has been adorned with swastikas and a proclamation of "Hitler Lives" for the last several weeks, cleaning it off seems to be a low priority.

If you have anyone above you their floor will squeak and creak to the point that it will wake you up if they happen to take a step above you while you are sleeping. This isn't ordinary creaking, this is a loud piercing noise that sounds like the plaster in the ceiling is buckling. Most apartment complexes would do the simple thing and have maintenance sink a few screws in the floorboards upstairs and fix the problem, but the Lakes at Monaco Pointe will ignore the problem and act like you're out of your mind that you're upset you can't actually sleep in you bedroom.

The ceiling of a nearby stairwell actually collapsed during a rainstorm. They put up caution tape and blocked it off so you had to go to the other side of the building to get upstairs. One would get the impression that with the stairwell blocked off and concrete falling off that they were planning to fix it, in reality they just kept it blocked off a few months before giving up and letting people back on it anyway.

In the year I have been here the rent on my tiny one-bedroom has increased 10% and the utilities have tripled. I intend to run as far as I can at the end of my lease and find a nice two-bedroom apartment somewhere for the same price I ended up paying here for my loud uninhabitable apartment in Nazitown.

Also, repairs are slow and they tend to "lose" your first work order. I went a week without a functioning toilet and after calling twice nothing got done until I went and hung around the lease office and demanded they fix it.

Stay far, far away from this complex. Unless you don't sleep and/or are a white supremacist, then you might really like it.
