My husband and I have been living at The Lakes for 2 years. And every month when we pay the rent, it seems like we're just thowing our money in the trash. If you have a problem with your apartment, YOU better know how to fix it. If you love taking cold showers, this place is for you! Either they turn of the water completly or there's never any hot water running. I couldn't count on my hands and toes the amount of times I had to boil water and take a bath. The management was supposed to give us a new door because the one we have is cracked by the door knob and fixed with wood glue. We were supposed to get new screens for our windows. We're still waiting! This place is dirty! Its disgusting! Numerous tenants have complained about BED BUGS. Including me. Managment does nothing about letting their residents know that bed bugs are in their building. If you read about them, they tend to travel. They crawl through crevices and walls to get to their victim. So just because I have them in my apartment they seem to think that they will stay there and a extermination will get rid of them. Since our apartment has been infested, we had to throw away our couch and bag all of our clothing. Let me tell you, we are in heaven! I love that I can't sleep at night because of the fear that I'll be bitten. I love that now we sit on the floor because we don't have enough money to purchase another couch. I love the scars that I have from the bites. And I am definately okay with the fact the I constantly think a bug is crawling on me and nothing is there. NOT!!! I hate this place! When we first moved in, I had noticed a man taking apart the hot tub that was near the pool. So I asked him what was wrong with it. He told me that the health department had inspected it on several different occasions and the bacteria level was so high from bums bathing in it that they had to shut it down. But my guess is that the residents bathed in it because its was they only hot water you'd ever find on the property. Lol. There is duck poop EVERYWHERE! They have come so desperate for their apartments to be rented out that they let anybody live here. Just recently in the apartment complax I live in, several different apartments have been rented out to kids. The noise level is always out of hand. Several times residents have woken up to graffiti written on the walls right outside their door. There is one cleaning lady and I feel so bad for her because she always on graffiti removal. I've never been to jail but I have dreamt that it is paradise compared to this place. Please, I beg you, do NOT put yourself in my familys situation. DO NOT RENT HERE!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!!!!!
