I was lied to when I came to look at the units. They told me they had regular pest control, that the complex was quiet, the water was hot, and so on. None of this is true. I have had continuous problems with neighbors, there are roaches, the water is NOT hot, and the water pressure is awful.
They witheld vital information until the money was paid and even witheld a mailbox key when I first signed the lease until I filled out a move in sheet.
The office staff is snobby and uncaring, and the maintenance man is an idiot.

Update:
It has been 9 months since I moved in here. We are on our 4th manager. Nothing has changed. They still do not care about maintenance. All but 1 light is out in the main hallway, and there is no light outside, making it VERY dark. It has been this way for 3 months even though they know about it.
The police are here for one resident at a minimum of twice a week, kids screaming in the hallway, trash in the hallway, and still no hot water.

I agree with this opinion. I have only been here 2 months and have already been frightened by the hoards of hispanic (no racism intended here) men drinking beer in front of the main entrance. Not to mention the homeless men sleeping in the hallways. And I agree that the manager does not care. She acts like it's a bother to have a complaint. She rolls her eyes and sighs. My lease is up in 4 months and then I am out of here.

It has been 2 months since my last review and I just have to add the latest. I have discovered that the people that live above me have gang affiliations! I was told this by the 2 police officers that came to talk to me after I had to call them about a fight going on in that unit. The police told me that the guy is in a gang and that his girlfriend (who he beats on) refuses to press charges because she is afraid of him and his "homies". I told the officers that this explains a lot. It is disheartening to know that not only is this place filthy, but they allow gang members to live here! I am more afraid than ever to come home at night after work. After learning all of this, I contacted the Apartment Association and filed a complaint against this community. I will be moving out when my lease is up in 2 months, but if my complaint makes things better here for one other person, that will make me happy. UPDATE 10/18/05 The gang affiliated person finally moved out. I thought my troubles on that front were over, but no such luck. Now it's the jerk next door. He has always been a problem but tonight it got to the point where I had to again call the police for assistance. This guy (in my opinion) is mentally challenged. He has always sat in his apartment and screamed that people are stealing his food, or that people are keeping HIM awake. *Side note to rainynight65, those homeless guys are this man's friends* They do sleep in the hallway if he is not home. I once told the assistant manager about one of them and she reluctently took care of it, but he always comes back. Tonight, the homeless guy was in this man's apartment and they were drunk. They were screaming and arguing so loud that I had to call the police this time. It was past midnight and I am simply not going to stand for it anymore. I have 1 more month on my lease and I am just not going to stand for any of it anymore. The police came and the homeless guy obviously had a warrant or something, because they took him. Also, the management has now gotton an attitude. I assume it's because I called the Apartment Association. Oh well. I tried for over a year to handle things with management, and they just didn't care, so I took the next step.
