Thin walls, cold showers, backed up sewage, what more could you want'

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
Lets see where to begin. First off things weren't so bad being on the first floor. Then some people moved in upstairs and when I signed the lease I was told wood floors weren't allowed on the second floor. I was suddenly awaken at 6AM one morning to the sounds of carpet being ripped out of the floor in the apartment above me. For the next 3 days it was the sound of pounding hammers each morning. After the new people moved in I can hear them walking, talking, and yelling among other things. Lets not forget the rap or country music which would play at 5AM every other morning for someones alarm which they would leave on while they took a shower...thanks. Then theres the pipes....they sound like screaming children. I felt like I was in a horror movie or perhaps even a train at times. Then there was the neighbor on the other side of me who liked to listen to his rap music so loud it would shake the walls. Thats just the every day noises. Let's see then there was the backed up sewage which happened three times. They fixed it pretty quickly but hey I don't like having sh** in my tub so maybe it affected me a bit more than others. The showers are a beast onto their own...if you like your water temperature varying somewhere in the range of 40 and 160 degrees then this place is for you! Prepare to do battle with your neighbors and try to burn them out of the shower so you can enjoy a constant temperature in peace. Then there is the ghetto laundromats with their busted up pepsi machines which look like they were robbed of their last quarters by a very desperate crackhead. If you don't mind sharing 6 washing machines and 4 out of 6 dryers among the entire complex then you wont have any problem hauling your dirty clothes back and forth repeatedly hoping they aren't full. For some reason every laundry center in this complex has 2 broken dryers. One crazy drunk guy told me one night as I was pushing my broken down car across the parking lot during the "repaving" that these dryers have not been fixed in the 3 years hes lived here. So what do they do to fix this problem...they put awnings in...great job but I still cant dry anything. Lets see my bike was also stolen off my "deck"...what boggles my mind on this one is it had flat tires and the brakes didn't work yet some crackhead thought they could still make a few bucks off a busted bike from walmart. Some cars were broken into but I personally never had a problem. It seemed like the backside of the complex was the ghetto side but I dont really know. The one redeeming feature is the office staff who are top notch but they can only do so much. I moved in here because I was laid off and down on money but now that things are going better I'm getting the hell out of here. On a ghetto scale of 1-5 I would rate this place a 3.5. Don't move here unless you are prepared to deal with all of the above otherwise it will be quite a miserable experience!
